JCC: Trojan War

It is around 1250 B.C.E. in northern Asia Minor, where Ancient Gods and mortals alike know blood is about to be shed. Paris, Prince of Troy, has kidnapped Helen, Queen of Sparta, to be his wife in the midst of a peace negotiation. In response, Kings of Greece have banded together to fight alongside their brothers and fellow countrymen to reclaim Helen for Menelaus, King of Sparta, and to make Troy rue the day they insulted their neighbors. The Trojans are preparing for a land invasion on their capital. Supply lines will be severed and those who live in the countryside forced into Troy’s walls. Everyone is choosing a side, blood will be spilled, and delegates on both sides must do what they can to triumph, or die.

Chair: Julie Johnson

Hi! My name is Julie, and I am serving as co-Chief of Staff for EthicalMUN III as well as chairing the Trojan War JCC. I have been doing Model UN for four years, and even participated as a delegate in the first ever EthicalMUN conference. I am so excited to share my love for MUN with you guys! When I'm not at school, I love to dance, binge Netflix, and I'm a bit of chronic doodler. If you have any questions feel free to email me at 21jjohnson@ecfs.org. I am looking forward to meeting all of you in May!

Chair: Lena Habtu

Hi everyone! My name is Lena Habtu and I am a freshman at Fieldston. I did Model UN in middle school, took a break, and now I am glad to be back. Outside of MUN, I am on the school’s swim team, as well dedicating a lot of (too much) time to singing and reading. I am very excited to be your chair at EthicalMUN III and I can’t wait to meet you all in May! If you have questions, don’t hesitate to email me at 22lahabtu@ecfs.org.

Crisis Director: Gavin Kelly

Hi! My name is Gavin Kelly and I am a freshman at Fieldston. This is my first year at Fieldston, but I attended both EthicalMUN conferences in middle school. This will be my third year in Model UN, and honestly it has changed me. It gave me a stronger work ethic, an extracurricular to care about, and allowed me to be apart of a community of fellow nerds. Outside of MUN, I run on the school track team in fall and winter, and play Ultimate Frisbee in the spring. I love spending time with my friends on the weekends, and occasionally watching my five year old brother. I sincerely hope all of you have a wonderful experience at Ethical MUN III, and delve deep into the roles of your characters to make everyone's experience more wholesome. I look forward to seeing and working with you all.

Chair: Brian Phillips

My name is Sara Snyder and I will be your chair.  I have participated in Fieldston’s Model UN club for the past three years, and have attended the past two Ethical Model UN conferences.  Outside of Model UN, I participate on the Field Hockey and Swim teams. I am so excited to watch you all work together to solve the problem!

Crisis Director: Aleksi Sefanov

Hi all! My name is Aleksi Sefanov and I will be your crisis director for EthicalMUN III! I started MUN in 7th grade, and outside of school I row! I love food, so all snacks are welcome, although nuts are a big no no. (I’m not allergic, just not fond of them.) Anyway, I am super excited for the Trojan War committee and I can’t wait to meet you all!

Crisis Director: Sophie josephson
